The Burg Eisenberg is a ruined hilltop stronghold within the Diemelsee nature park, above the village of Goldhausen in the municipality of Korbach. Built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century, it later belonged to the Counts of Waldeck and, from 1487, served as the seat of the Waldeck-Eisenberg line, being expanded into a proper Schloss in the 16th century under Count Philip III and Anna of Cleves. Left to decay after 1700 and torn down from 1749 onward, only foundations, a moat and an earthwork remain today, uncovered through excavations carried out between 1974 and 1982. Nearby stands the Georg-Viktor-Turm lookout tower, and two further ancient earthworks survive on the same hill.
