To make a day of it

Burg Dreiborn stands in Schleiden (Kreis Euskirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Dreiborn stands in the Dreiborn district of Schleiden and is known as the highest-situated moated castle (Wasserburg) in the Rhineland. Only the round southwest tower, now standing free, and the enclosure walls of the outer bailey with their two corner towers survive from the medieval complex. Most of what can be seen today dates from a rebuilding campaign carried out between 1680 and 1695 by Philipp Wilhelm Baron von Harff and his wife Anna Catharina von Harff-Dreiborn, whose combined coat of arms remains above the portal of the stable building. A baroque wayside chapel stands along the approach road, and a small pavilion sits on the old garden wall.
