Burg Dotternhausen overlooks the northeastern edge of the village of Dotternhausen and remains one of its visual landmarks. Founded by the local lords of Dotternhausen, recorded between 1228 and 1314, it was rebuilt in 1527 by Hans von Stotzingen and later passed through several owners, including the Jesuit college of Rottenburg and the counts of Bissingen-Nippenburg. Purchased in 1814 by the publisher Friedrich von Cotta, it was refurbished in 1860 in historicist style, with its two-storey main building, gabled roof and crenellated gables, extended by an English-style park along the Katzenbach stream. Now privately owned, it can only be viewed from outside.
