Burg Bartenstein stands in Partenstein (Landkreis Main-Spessart), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
The Burg Bartenstein rises above the village of Partenstein in Bavaria, perched on a rocky spur at the confluence of the Lohr and Aubach rivers. Founded by the Counts of Rieneck shortly before 1233, this medieval ruin once guarded the trade route from Lohr to the Wiesbütt crossroads. Destroyed during the Thirty Years' War in 1633, it was never rebuilt, and today visitors can see remnants of its outer defenses, walls, and entrance. Archaeological excavations since 2003 have uncovered parts of these structures, some of which have been restored.
