Château Raoul stands in Châteauroux (Indre), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Overlooking a bend of the Indre river in the heart of Châteauroux, Château Raoul gave its name to the town that grew at its foot. Built in the 10th century by the lord Raoul, then rebuilt around 1450 by Guy III de Chauvigny as a noble residence, it still shows the towers and steep roofs from that period. Once home to the Duchess of Châteauroux in the 18th century, it now houses the prefecture of the Indre and is best seen from outside its walls.
