Château Le Piat stands in Tauriac (Gironde), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Tauriac, in the Gironde, the Le Piat château combines a neoclassical chartreuse-style house from the late 18th century with a vineyard estate under the côtes-de-bourg appellation. Built in 1781 by architect Jean Lespine for the Bordeaux merchant Joseph-Guillaume Peychaud, the house was inspired by the style of Victor Louis, architect of Bordeaux's Grand Théâtre. Around the main building stand a courtyard, a vat house and a barn, where traces of an old gravity press can still be seen. The eight-hectare vineyard surrounding the château still occupies the site of the original estate, on a clay-limestone slope overlooking the Gironde estuary.
