Perched on a hillside overlooking the Isle valley near Saint-Astier, this Périgord château blends medieval defences with alterations made during the classical centuries. Two wings set at right angles, joined by a polygonal stair tower, are flanked by round towers, one of which was converted into a chapel. Remnants of the old ramparts, a dovecote and period fireplaces in the second-floor great hall can still be seen.
