What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit au 15e siècle par un vassal du duc de Bretagne pour contrôler la Loire en aval de Nantes. Transformé en demeure de plaisance vers 1500 puis à nouveau vers 1550. Pris et sans doute détruit en 1589 par le duc de Mercoeur. Le site est installé sur une plateforme bipartite, la partie nord correspondant au logis castral et celle du sud à la basse cour.
