The château des Torcy stands in Garnat-sur-Engièvre, in the Allier department. Its present manor house, built in the mid-19th century, is flanked by two brick entrance pavilions dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Local tradition links the site to a meeting between Louis VII, Henry II Plantagenet and Pope Alexander III, who was travelling to Souvigny. The grounds still show traces of a medieval mound, only levelled in 1840.
