The château de Venzac stands in the commune of Mur-de-Barrez, in the Aveyron region known as Carladez. Built in the late 16th century for Guillaume Gaches, it still shows traces of the Wars of Religion in its rectangular towers pierced with gun loops. A straight-flight staircase, decorated with pilasters and Ionic capitals, was added later on the north side of the building. The whole complex, built of volcanic tuff, also includes a chapel and outbuildings typical of the area.
