L'histoire du château de Terride est liée à celle d'un lignage de premier plan dans l'aristocratie de la Gascogne toulousaine, celui des vicomtes de Terride ou de Gimois. Mentionné pour la première fois en 1367, le château résulte du déplacement du pôle géographique primitif autour duquel s'organisait la vicomté. Au milieu du XVIe siècle, il connaît de nouveaux aménagements : Antoine de Lomagne-Terride entreprend vers 1549 la construction d'une galerie dont rien n'aurait subsisté ainsi que des travaux qui justifièrent l'expertise de Nicolas Bachelier en 1551. Le château subit en 1573 un siège particulièrement violent au cours duquel le front sud s'effondre partiellement. Il passe ensuite de mains en mains puis est racheté en 1861 par Théodore Magre, négociant toulousain, qui entreprend sa restauration sans pouvoir la mener à bien. En 1986, l'édifice est transformé en hôtel auquel est adjoint un parcours de golf.
