A l'origine, maison forte dont on constate l'existence dès le 11e siècle. Restauration du château médiéval ravagé par les Anglais de 1582 à 1587, travaux achevés en 1604 (date sur la tour sud-est). Décoration intérieure à partir de 1661, ainsi que le parc à la française (fermé par un portail en ferronnerie du 18e siècle) et les communs.
