Château de Saint-Julien stands in Siccieu-Saint-Julien-et-Carisieu (Isère), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
The château de Saint-Julien overlooks the village and the Ry pond, close to Crémieu in the Isère department. Originating as a 12th century fortified house, it went through numerous alterations, from becoming the county seat of Saint-Jullin in the 18th century to the changes made by the Countess de Chaponnay after the French Revolution. Its architecture combines a central tower with false machicolations, corner turrets and a monumental gatehouse that give it a medieval appearance, though much of this dates from the 19th century. The estate, now run as a holiday centre, still holds a park with a fountain, a wash house and a garden folly.
