In Saint-Élix-le-Château, in the Haute-Garonne department, this brick pavilion flanked by four round towers was built between 1540 and 1548 for Pierre Potier, a capitoul and secretary to King Francis I, following designs by the Toulouse architect Laurent Clary. Its mullioned windows and carved decoration reflect the Renaissance style of the Toulouse region, even though the roofs, battlements and moat were destroyed during the Revolution. The estate also retains a formal garden, an orangery, stables and a dovecote, all listed as historic monuments.
