What the French Ministry of Culture records

Au 16e et 17e siècle, le château appartenait à une famille protestante. L'édifice subit des transformations au 18e siècle puis est complètement reconstruit au 19e. Du 17e siècle subsiste l'ancien portail plein cintre. Les pilastres à dosserets sont surmontés de chapiteaux ioniques, ornementés d'oves à dards et d'un rang de chapelet. Le dessus des chapiteaux est occupé par des règles plates. Grand fronton en segment de cercle. Au tympan, grande pierre en relief ayant jadis porté des armoiries. L'arc est mouluré et sa clef saillante est décorée d'acanthes et d'un liseré torsadé. Des volutes en ailerons relient les montants aux murettes d'appui.
