Château de Rochebonne stands in Saint-Martin-de-Valamas (Ardèche), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Admission is free. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The ruins of the Rochebonne castle stand on a granite outcrop overlooking the upper Eyrieux valley, in the Boutières area of Ardèche. Likely built in the 11th century, this fortified castle fell into ruin by the 18th century, yet it still retains a keep pierced with arrow slits, the remains of 15th-century residential quarters and traces of fireplaces. The site, restored by a local association, can be visited freely after a walk through the woods below the road.
