Set in the hills above Boffres, the château de Cachard is a fortified house dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, recognisable by its round towers topped with flat roofs. Once home to the Bouvier de Cachard family, it is said to have hosted the young Napoleone di Buonaparte on several occasions, a friend of one of the counts of Cachard who served as an artillery lieutenant in Valence. Visitors can also see a library decorated with frescoes by the painter Henri de Saint-Jean, and grounds where deer, wild boar and mouflon roam freely.
