The ruins of Recours castle stand on top of a volcanic hill overlooking the Loire valley and the Emblavez plain, about one kilometre from the village of Beaulieu. Little remains of the medieval fortress beyond scattered vestiges, including the foundations of a tower at the southern tip of the rock. The site is chiefly of interest for its commanding position and the atmosphere of an isolated ruin.
