To make a day of it

Château de Preisch stands in Basse-Rentgen (Moselle), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first quarter of the 16th century, first half of the 17th century, third quarter of the 19th century). Adult admission costs 15 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on August 28, 2026.

Preisch Castle stands in Basse-Rentgen on the remains of a medieval stronghold, of which the motte, moat and part of the surrounding wall still survive. The current main building dates from the early 17th century, complemented by a dovecote, entrance pavilions and a chapel rebuilt in the 1860s with carved decoration and stained glass from the Metz school. A seigneurial cross dated 1514 completes the site, which is now both listed and registered as a historic monument.
