To make a day of it

Château de Pipet stands in Vienne (Isère), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The ruins of the château de Pipet stand atop Mont Pipet, overlooking the town of Vienne from 277 metres. Originally a stronghold built by the kings of Burgundy, it later became the object of disputes between canons, archbishops and the dauphin of Viennois. Demolished on Richelieu's orders in the seventeenth century, the site today draws visitors mainly for the view over the town and the Rhône valley.
