At Nicey, in the Côte-d'Or, the ruins of a fortified castle dating back to the 14th century still stand. The site is marked by two round towers pierced with gun loops, added during defensive works of the late 15th or early 16th century, and by a long 17th century building that closes the platform on its eastern side. Traces of the moat remain visible to the north and east, and the grounds are now divided among several farms.
