To make a day of it

Château de Montchaude stands in Montmérac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château de Montchaude stands in Montmérac, in the Charente department, built in a Renaissance style that was heavily reworked during the 19th century. Its most striking features are the dormer windows carved with floral motifs, arabesques and coats of arms, along with a park that still contains a large round dovecote set apart from the main building. The property's history spans several noble families from the Barbezieux area, a major renovation under the Third Republic, and a more recent fire that damaged part of the structure before repairs.
