To make a day of it

Château de Touvérac stands in Touvérac (Charente), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Touvérac castle stands in the Charente department, some forty kilometres southwest of Angoulême, built upon the remains of a medieval structure dating from the 14th or 15th century. What visitors see today is largely the result of a late 19th-century reconstruction commissioned by a doctor from Barbezieux, which gave the building its turrets, corner watch-tower and balustraded terrace. Two wings frame an inner courtyard, one retaining openings that predate the renovation, the other displaying the neo-medieval style typical of that period.
