In Méhoudin, in the Orne department, the château de Monceaux stands on the site of a 16th century manor, replaced by a residence built between 1730 and 1740 and then rebuilt identically in 1920 by architect François-Benjamin Chaussemiche. The estate is chiefly known for its Italian-inspired gardens, where topiary art, developed since the early 20th century, forms a striking arrangement of clipped trees. A courtyard of honour, terraces, an orangery and orchards complete this listed historic monument.
