> Ce manoir du 16e siècle a été reconstruit de 1730 à 1740 : les premiers jardins, d'inspiration italienne, datent de cette époque. Propriété en 1912 d'Henri Gonse, le château a été acheté en 1915 par son cousin Octave Join-Lambert qui l'a fait reconstruire à l'identique en 1920 (mais avec une ossature en béton armé) par François-Benjamin Chaussemiche, architecte en chef du château de Versailles. Les jardins, complétés par Gonse et Join-Lambert en 1912 et 1920 (date de construction de l'orangerie) , présentent aujourd'hui un ensemble d'arbres taillés qui font de ce domaine un haut lieu de l'art topiaire.
