What the French Ministry of Culture records
Le domaine viticole est mentionné dès 1183, comme propriété de Cisterciens dont le patrimoine s'enrichit jusqu'au 13e siècle. L'exploitation de la vigne se poursuit jusqu'au 18e siècle. En 1789, le domaine est incendié, et les tours du château rasées. A partir de 1809, le château passe entre les mains de propriétaires civils. En 1875, d'importants travaux sont entrepris ; les écuries, le portail et la maison de gardien construits. De 1882 à 1889, l'architecte Paul Rostagnat travaille sur l'édifice.
