To make a day of it

Château de Lagery stands in Lagery (Marne), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, second half of the 15th century, first half of the 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

The Château de Lagery stands slightly above the village that bears its name, in the Marne department. Built around a square courtyard between the 13th and 16th centuries, it combines a medieval tower, an old gatehouse range and a residential wing linked by a 16th century tower. Local tradition holds that an underground passage connects it to the nearby church, which still contains a funerary slab of the former lords and painted coats of arms.
