What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut fondé en 1286 par Pierre-André de la Ganne. Edifice composite, le château présente plusieurs parties d'époques différentes disposées en forme d'équerre. A l'ouest, une tour ronde de la fin du 15e ou du début du 16e siècle, flanquée d'une tourelle enfermant un escalier à vis, abrite une chapelle couverte d'une voûte à nervures rayonnantes. L'intérieur en a été couvert de lambris néo-gothiques. A l'est, le corps de logis rectangulaire date de la même époque. Il est flanqué d'une tourelle d'escalier carrée, intérieurement à vis. Il comprend trois étages avec des plafonds à solives apparentes. Ce corps de bâtiment a été prolongé, au 18e siècle, côté sud, par une aile plus basse. La tour et le corps de logis ont été réunis au 19e siècle, sans doute à la place d'un élément de liaison disparu, par une aile étroite décorée de tourelles et d'un fronton et percée, côté cour, de fenêtres néo-gothiques.
