The Château de la Chapelle-Chaussée displays its three pavilions and two domed turrets in Ille-et-Vilaine, built in the 16th century and later altered under Louis XIII. The dormer roofs, resting on modillion cornices, and the small bell towers crowning the turrets give the building a silhouette typical of Breton architecture of that period. Inside, the drawing room retains a carved monumental fireplace dating from the late French Renaissance, while several rooms are decorated with Louis XV style woodwork.
