The Château de la Borie stands in Solignac, in the Haute-Vienne department, as a 17th-century ensemble built around two successive courtyards. Its corbelled turrets are capped in the style associated with Philibert Delorme, the main façade features a pedimented doorway, and the dormer windows carry decorative false machicolations. A surrounding wall with corner towers still encloses the main building, the outbuildings and a former chapel. For several years the estate also served as a setting for contemporary art exhibitions across its gardens and park.
