To make a day of it

Château de la Borde stands in Saint Privat en Périgord (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de la Borde survives today only as ruins, the remnant of a fortified residence likely dating from the 16th century and built over earlier foundations. The site once included three round towers and a fortified farm forming a courtyard with the main building, but the structure has stood abandoned since at least the mid-20th century, with its roofs now collapsed. This is not a monument set up for visitors, but a place that recalls the succession of Périgord families who held it, the Joumard de la Double, the Chabans de Lavignac, and later the de La Cropte.
