Château de l'Anglais stands in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
On the slopes of Mont Boron in Nice, this 19th century residence takes its name from Colonel Robert Smith, a British army engineer who had it built between 1856 and 1858, drawing on the Mughal palaces of India he had known and restored, including Delhi's Red Fort. The facades, roofs and gardens survive, along with a neoclassical rotunda that was separated from the main building when the estate was subdivided in 1949. Now divided into private apartments, the property has been under restoration by its owners since 2023.
