What the French Ministry of Culture records

Philippe Bigot de la Turgère, conseiller au parlement de Normandie, a fait bâtir à partir de 1684 un château, dont la construction a été interrompue en 1689. Le plan et l'élévation sont signés de Gennevois. Une vaste composition paysagère a été mise en place dès la construction du château (parc, avenues, avant-cour et cour d'honneur). Des aménagements ont eu lieu aux 18e et 19e siècles (logis secondaire au 18e siècle, adjonction d'une aile au nord du château au 19e siècle - disparue depuis et reconstruite en 1949). L'ensemble se caractérise par une belle architecture brique et pierre.
