What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le parc a été créé vers 1830 et réaménagé dans les années 1860-1870. Un réseau d'allées délimite massifs boisés et pelouses. Les éléments remarquables de ce parc paysager sont le système hydraulique qui utilise la déclivité du terrain pour distribuer l'eau ; les fabriques ; la fausse rivière avec les quatre ponts qui l'enjambent ; le kiosque rustique ; le potager. La maison a été modifiée sous le Second Empire. Balzac y séjourna à trois reprises entre 1834 et 1838, chez ses amis Carraud.
