To make a day of it

Château de Dyo stands in Dyo (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

On a mound overlooking the village of Dyo, between Charolles and La Clayette, stand the remains of a fortified castle thought to date from the late 11th century. The site was for centuries the seat of the lordship of Dyo, passed by marriage through the Dyo family and later the Damas d'Anlezy family. Visitors can still make out the bases of three round towers and a tall 13th-century gate tower, now surrounded by houses and gardens occupying the former enclosure.
