Perched on a rocky outcrop above the village, this Périgord castle served for centuries as the summer residence of the bishops of Périgueux before becoming a privately owned property open to visitors. Built from the 14th century onward and altered through the 16th, it combines several asymmetrical adjoining wings flanked by machicolated towers, two of which on the south side contain spiral staircases behind doorways carved with statuettes and pinnacles. Visitors can also walk through the gardens that replaced the former moats and defensive outbuildings, laid out in the 1920s by Jenny Sacerdote, known for her rose garden.
