To make a day of it

Château de Champrenault stands in Champrenault (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Champrenault is a fortified keep dating from the 13th century, standing at the southern edge of the village of the same name in the Côte-d'Or. Restoration work carried out between 2000 and 2008 brought back the tower's long-bricked-up windows and revealed its original medieval layout. Visitors can see defensive architecture typical of Burgundian fortified houses, including a hexagonal stair turret, stacked rooms and remains of the surrounding wall. The site also carries the memory of a turbulent past, having been burned in the late 16th and mid-17th centuries under successive local lords.
