The château de Chamagnieu stands in the Nord-Isère region, on high ground between la Verpillière and Crémieu. This former feudal residence, among the oldest in the Dauphiné area, was altered over the centuries before becoming the property of the city of Villeurbanne. It is not currently open for tourist visits: the estate and its 32-hectare park now serve as an educational and holiday centre for children.
