To make a day of it

Château de Caunelles stands in Juvignac (Hérault), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

The Château de Caunelles stands in the town of Juvignac, in the Hérault department, on the banks of the Mosson river. The building dates from the 16th century but took its present form in the 18th century, in the style of the countryside residences favoured around Montpellier, while retaining a few mullioned windows from its Renaissance origins. The estate, now tied to a wine-growing business, includes a park and gardens redesigned in the 19th century by Jean-Marie Amelin, along with a chapel, an orangery and a dovecote tower.
