To make a day of it

Château de Bionne stands in Montpellier (Hérault), in the Occitanie region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de Bionne stands west of Montpellier, on the street that bears its name. Built at the end of the 17th century under the name château de Mont-Louis, it first belonged to Nicolas de Lamoignon de Basville, the royal intendant of Languedoc, before passing to the Bonnier, Tissié and Leenhardt families. Its Mansard roof sets it apart from Montpellier's other follies, and a grotto fountain survives beneath its terrace. The estate now operates as a hotel rather than a monument open for public visits.
