Le château, datant des 15ème-16ème siècles puis transformé au 18ème siècle, est implanté sur une plate-forme, qui est aussi une île, et se caractérise précisément par l'omniprésence de l'eau. Autour de cette île s'articulent deux grands espaces encore lisibles: celui des communs et celui des « jardins d'eau », délimités par d'anciens canaux qui dessinent des sortes «d'îles satellites ». Le corps de logis a conservé quelques éléments intérieurs intéressants comme un bel escalier avec son garde-corps en fer forgé.
