To make a day of it
Château de Bruyères stands in Bruyères (Vosges), in the Grand Est region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
Bruyères, in the Vosges, is overlooked by a hill where the ruins of a fortified castle still stand. A Duke of Lorraine had it built during the 10th century on a quadrangular plan, protected by two surrounding walls, and tradition holds that Emperor Henry VI lodged there in 1196. Fire destroyed the structure in 1715, so visitors now explore the site mainly for its medieval history rather than intact buildings.
