What the French Ministry of Culture records

L'ancien manoir seigneurial aurait été construit au début du 14e siècle. Ce manoir aurait conservé son aspect médiéval (gros corps de logis avec quatre tours d'angle) jusqu'à la fin du 18e siècle. En 1802, lorsque le nouveau propriétaire fait restaurer et embellir l'édifice, il ne subsiste plus que deux tours cantonnant le corps de logis au nord et une aile perpendiculaire à l'est. L'actuel château se compose de bâtiments hétérogènes, organisés selon un plan en T, que les travaux du 19e siècle ont voulu rendre homogènes. Trois campagnes de travaux se distinguent. Au 14e siècle, un château fort dont il subsiste deux grosses tours cylindriques à l'est et à l'ouest, une salle basse voûtée sous l'aile est-ouest avec caves, une tour de l'ancienne enceinte à l'angle ouest du mur de clôture, ainsi que deux portes dans l'aile nord. Au 17e siècle, une aile, qui forme aujourd'hui le principal corps de logis, a été bâtie entre les deux tours cylindriques. Au début du 20e siècle, un même crépi a été posé sur toutes les façades.
