To make a day of it

Château de Beauregard stands in Beauregard (Ain), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Beauregard castle stands in the Ain department, on the site of a medieval lordship founded in the late thirteenth century by Gui de Chabeu. Only the eastern half of the left wing retains medieval elements, including a tower pierced with cross-shaped gun loops arranged over several levels. The rest of the building dates from works carried out in the 1860s, which extended the older structures and linked them with a portico. What makes the site notable is this layering of medieval defensive remains and a nineteenth century rebuilding.
