To make a day of it

Château d'Entraigues stands in Boisset (Cantal), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

Set on high ground above the confluence of the Rance and the Moulègre, in Boisset in the Cantal, the château d'Entraygues takes its name from this position between two rivers. Built over three successive phases from the 16th to the 18th century, it combines a main residence flanked by a stair tower, a round tower added in the 17th century and an 18th century wing set at a right angle. Inside are carved panelled doors, painted beamed ceilings and rare wallpaper dating from the Directoire period. The house has belonged to the same family, the Falvellys, since 1840.
