Château d'Audaux stands in Audaux (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Audaux, in the Béarn region, stands a château built in a single campaign between 1650 and 1659, commissioned by Jean de Gassion, then president of the Parliament of Navarre. Its U-shaped layout, moat crossed by four bridges and stone staircase make it one of the few near-intact examples of mid-17th-century Béarn architecture. Inside, the so-called Maréchaux hall still has its beamed ceiling painted with arabesques, while the gallery and monumental fireplaces recall the grandeur intended by the Gassion family.
