What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut réalisé de 1870 à 1876 sous la direction de deux architectes : Henri Meurillon et Léon Ohnet, pour la famille Boutry, notables de la ville et propriétaire de manufactures linières implantées à Lille. Le site du domaine d'Assignies s'est, un temps, inscrit dans l'histoire locale, permettant d'évoquer la splendeur des Boutry à la fin du 19ème siècle. Il n'en subsiste, aujourd'hui, que les dépendances, très dénaturées par ailleurs.
