To make a day of it

Tour de Brison stands in Sanilhac (Ardèche), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Standing at 781 metres above the village of Sanilhac in the Ardèche, the tower of Brison is the sole surviving remnant of a vanished fortified complex. Rising some fifty metres, it overlooks the villages of Vernon, Beaumont and Sanilhac and gives a wide circular view over the surrounding hills. The site, now linked to a legend involving a pact with the devil, is also used as a lookout post for forest fire detection.
