Standing on the Chaillot hill opposite the Eiffel Tower, this large palace with its two curved wings was built for the 1937 World's Fair, raised upon the frame of the former Trocadéro palace. Its terrace and forecourt, adorned with gilded statues, offer one of the widest open views over the Champ-de-Mars and the Seine. The building now houses several cultural institutions, including a national theatre, a film archive, and museums devoted to the navy, mankind and French monuments.
