Château de Grenelle stands in Paris (Paris), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
The château de Grenelle no longer stands: it was a manorial farm on the Grenelle plain, long since absorbed into the urban fabric near place Dupleix in Paris. Owned by the abbey of Sainte-Geneviève, the estate passed to the Crown in the mid-18th century and was later turned into a gunpowder works after the Revolution. An explosion in 1794 destroyed most of it, after which the site became a military gymnasium and then a cavalry barracks. There is nothing to visit on the spot today, apart from the street layout and the square Nicole-de-Hauteclocque, which mark where it once stood.
